The Data Marketing Communications (DMC) program offered by the WVU Reed College of Media attracts a variety of applicants, from seasoned professionals to those just starting their career in the marketing communications industry.
Our program is offered entirely online and the total number of available seats for each entry term is limited to keep class sizes small and enable plenty of one-on-one interaction with professors. Admission to the DMC program is competitive and depends on a variety of factors including undergraduate academic performance, GRE or GMAT scores (which may be waived by meeting professional and/or academic qualifications), years of relevant experience and a personal statement.
To request a waiver of the GRE/GMAT requirement, please submit your information to our Resume Review Dropbox. Upon receipt of your information, the admissions committee will evaluate your credentials to determine whether waiver of the GRE/GMAT requirement can be offered.

New students may begin the DMC program twice each year starting in January and August. For student convenience, the program operates on a rolling admissions basis and qualified applicants may be accepted throughout the year as soon as they complete the application process.
All applicants will be notified of the admission committee’s decision whether accepted or rejected; however, the timing can vary depending on when the complete application is received. Applicants are strongly encouraged to apply before the program’s application deadline.
Application Submission Deadlines
Applying before the deadline gives applicants the optimal amount of time to explore and secure financial aid, participate in orientation activities, order books and plan their course of study. However, applications must be completed by the following deadlines to receive full consideration for admission:
|Admission Term||Application Deadline|
Applications will be processed after the deadline until an incoming class is full. Once all available seats have been filled, qualified applicants will be deferred to the next incoming term. The program may also implement a waitlist for an incoming session.
